I am a researcher in speech science. My ongoing project investigates speech production in the context of cognitive impairment. My goals are twofold: (i) to identify speech markers of cognitive change, such as word-finding difficulties, and (ii) to explore the cognitive mechanisms that underlie speech. To this end, I use techniques such as automatic speech recognition and eye-tracking. I am currently working with breast cancer survivors who report subtle yet impactful cognitive difficulties, known as Cancer-Related Cognitive Impairment (CRCI), in which word-finding difficulties are among the most common symptoms.
